Sing praise to the Father, Creator and King

Whose mercy has taught us a new song to sing Who made us, and loved us though rebels and lost And planned our redemption at infinite cost.

Refrain:

Bless the Lord, bless the Lord,

bless the Lord, O my soul

For the grace that redeems,

for the love that makes whole

O come and adore Him,

his glories proclaim

And worship before Him –

the Lord is His name.

Sing praise to the Savior, Redeemer, and Friend, For grace past all telling, for love without end; Who stripped off his glory, put on mortal sin, And died and was ris’n full atonement to win.

Sing praise to the Spirit, the gift of God’s love,

Who quickens our hearts with new life from above, Who woos us, subdues us, and seals us his own, And faultless presents us before his great throne.

Praise to the Lord, the Almighty,

the King of creation! O my soul, praise Him,

for He is thy health and salvation!

All ye who hear, now to His temple draw near;

Praise Him in glad adoration.

Praise to the Lord,

who over all things so wondrously reigneth,

Shelters thee under His wings,

yea, so gently sustaineth!

Hast thou not seen how thy desires e’er have been Granted in what He ordaineth?

Praise to the Lord,

who doth prosper thy work and defend thee;

Surely His goodness and mercy here daily attend thee.

Ponder anew what the Almighty can do,

If with His love He befriend thee.

O let all that is in me adore Him!

All that hath life and breath, come now with praises before Him.

Let the Amen sound from His people again,

Gladly for aye we adore Him.

HYMN OF DEDICATION

“Now in the Days of Youth”   [HFJ 263]

Now in the days of youth

when life is filled with choice,

When hope and doubt touch every hour,

When all thoughts find a voice,

We turn, O God to You for guidance and for grace. In all our days, in all our ways,

help us to seek Your face.

Teach us to use our lives

with purpose and with power for

Visions of a better world

and for decision’s hour;

To choose the way of life,

reject the way of death,

Until the radiant force of God fills mind and strength and breath.

Teacher, Creator, God, enfold us in your arms;

Be with us as we try our wings, and keep us safe from harm.

All good and perfect gifts come to us from Your hand.

O help us use them carefully and live by love’s command.

Prelude
Lighting of Christ Candle
Greetings
Call to Worship:
Leader: Come, people of God,
Come and let us know again who we are.
Let us with grateful hearts praise the One who gives us life!

People: We come as followers of God,
longing for a closer walk with our Creator.
Leader: Lift up your hearts and voice to the majesty of our God How great is our God, who steadfastly gives life and constantly provides and offers the best for us.

Hymn: “I Sing The Mighty Power Of God” [# 53 THE]
I sing the Mighty power of God,
that made the mountains rise;
That spread the flowing seas abroad,
and built the lofty skies.
I sing the Wisdom that ordained
the sun to rule the day;
The moon shines full at His command,
and all the stars obey.

I sing the goodness of the Lord,
that filled the earth with food;
He formed the creatures with His word,
and then pronounced them
good. Lord, how Thy wonders are displayed wher-e’er i turn my eye;
If I survey the ground I tread,
or gaze upon the sky!

There’s not a plant or flower below,
but makes Thy glories known;
And clouds arise, and tempests blow,
by order from Thy throne;
while all that borrows life from
Thee is ever in Thy care;
and everywhere that man can be,
Thou, God, art present there

The Church in Prayer

Response:

“Prayer is the Souls’ Sincere Desire”

Prayer is the soul’s sincere desire,

uttered or unexpressed;

The motion of a hidden fire,

that trembles in the breast.

Prayer is the simplest form of speech,

that infant lips can try;

Prayer, the sublimest strains

that reach the Majesty so nigh.

The Scripture Reading

Message in Song:  “Safe” -Juzmin Mares U. Salomon

Meditation:

Call to Offering: [Leader]

Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

Offering of Tithes, Pledges and Other Gifts

Offertory Song:  “Blessing” -Safiya J. Paragoso

Hymn:  “We Give Thee But Thine Own”

We give Thee but Thine own,

what’er the gifts maybe

All that we have is Thine alone,

trust, O Lord, from Thee.

May we Thy bounties thus,

as stewards true receive,

And gladly as Thou blesses us,

to Thee our first-fruit give. Amen

Offertory Prayer

God of great wonders, we join with you in the joy of giving. You give us life and breath, you fill the world with beauty, our hands with bounty, and our hearts with the desire to give.

Accept these gifts, and ourselves in your service.  Amen.

Closing Song:  “Joy is Like the Rain”

I saw rain drops on my window,

joy is like the rain

Laughter runs across my pane,

slips away and comes again

Joy is like the rain

I saw clouds upon a mountain,

joy is like a cloud

Sometimes silver, sometimes gray,

always sun not far away

Joy is like a cloud

I saw Christ in wind and thunder,

joy is tried by storm

Christ asleep within my boat,

whipped by wind, yet still afloat

Joy is tried by storm

I saw rain drops on a river,

Joy is like the rain

Bit by bit the river grows,

till all at once it overflows

Joy is like the rain

Hymn: “God Reigns O’er All the Earth”

[tune: “This is my Father’s World”]

God reigns o’er all the earth!

Green hills and valleys low,

The farms and towns in golds and browns, God’s grace and beauty show.

God reigns o’er all the earth!

Stone banks and spreading plains,

In rainbow hues-red, yellow, blues –

of streams and country lanes.

God reigns o’er all human life!

Through youth and aging years,

In death and birth, in grief, in mirth,

in all our hopes and fears.

God reigns o’er human life!

Our inspiration still.

Through all our schemes, in all our dreams,

we see God’s reigning will.

God reign! Emmanuel!

God with us everyday,

In all our past and to the last,

our comfort and our stay,

God reign! Emmanuel!

Let praise to Christ be sung,

God’s presence here makes all things dear.

Let joyful bells be rung.

Closing Song: “Jesus calls us o’er the tumult”

Jesus calls us o’er the tumult,

of our life’s wild, restless sea;

day by day his sweet voice soundeth,

saying “Christian, follow me.”

As, of old, apostles heard it,

by the Galilean lake,

turned from home and toil and kindred,

leaving all for his dear sake.

Jesus calls us from the worship,

of the vain world’s golden store,

from each idol that would keep us,

saying “Christian, love me more.”

In our joys and in our sorrows,

days of toil and hours of ease,

still he calls, in cares and pleasures,

“Christian, love me more than these.”
