“Seeing Possibilities in this Pandemic Times Through the Eyes of the Children”
PRELUDE – Charleston King Galope
LIGHTING OF CHRIST’S CANDLE
GREETINGS
WELCOME SONG: “Welcome to the family”
Welcome to the family,
we’re glad that you have come
To share your life with us,
as we grow in love and
May we always be to you,
what God would have us be:
A family always there
to be strong and to lean on.
May we learn to love each other
more in each new day
May words of love be on our lips
in everything we say
May Your Spirit fill our hearts
and teach us how to pray
That we might be a true family.
WORDS TO PONDER (Minister)
“God gives us children for a time, To train them in God’s way, To love them, and to show them how to follow and obey”.
(Our Daily Bread Vo. 7)
“We are guilty of many errors and many faults, but our worst crime is abandoning the children, neglecting the fountain of life. Many of the things we need can wait. The child cannot. Right now is the time his/her bones are being formed, his/her blood is being developed. To him/her we cannot answer “tomorrow”. His/Her name is “today”.
– Gabriela Mistral

All the children of the world

They are precious in His sight
Jesus loves the little children of the world
Jesus died for all the children
All the children of the world
Red, brown, yellow Black and white
They are precious in His sight, Jesus died for all the children Of the world.
OPENING PRAYER (Unison)
May we all feel your presence now, O God.
We humbly submit ourselves to you so that we
may know what you want us to be and what you want us to do. Help us learn from you so that we may grow in your love and be empowered to serve your people. Prepare us now through your Spirit, and make us listen to what you want to say to us. We worship you with joy and thanksgiving. In the name of our Savior Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Response: “Gloria Patri”
Glory be to the Father,
and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost.
As it was in the beginning,
is now and ever shall be,
World without end, Amen, Amen.
CALL TO CONFESSION (Leader)
People of God, we have walked the path
that separated us from our Creator. We have made decisions and plans of our own that keep us away from doing the will of God.
We fail in serving the least of our brethren,
the widows, the inflicted and most of all the children. Let us therefore confess our shortcomings and weaknesses
and ask for forgiveness before God.
SONG OF CONFESSION:
“If I have Wounded Any Soul Today” (hfj66)
If I have wounded any soul today,
If I have caused one foot to go astray,
If I have walked in my own willful way,
Dear Lord, forgive!
If I have uttered idle words or vain,
If I have turned aside from want or pain,
If I offended others thru the strain,
Dear Lord, forgive!
ASSURANCE OF PARDON(Minister)
Take heart. God’s Spirit empowers us
to move from the ways of death to the ways of new life. Our sins are forgiven. Let us forgive one another in the joyful community of the risen Christ. God’s readiness to forgive far exceeds our love of sinning. For God’s life-giving grace in Jesus Christ reaches out to us and embraces us with the blessings of salvation.
Response “Jesus Loves Me”
Refrain:
Yes, Jesus loves me! Yes, Jesus loves me!
Yes, Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.

SCRIPTURE READING
3 Children are a gift from the LORD;
they are a reward from him.
4 Children born to a young man are like arrows in a warrior’s hands.
5 How joyful is the man whose quiver is full of them! He will not be put to shame when he confronts his accusers at the city gates.
Ps. 127:3-5 (NLT)
14 Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Matthew 19:14
1 God is our refuge and strength an ever-present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,
10 He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 The Lord Almighty is with us;
the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46[:1-2; 10-11

AN AFFIRMATION (Unison)
We believe that children are a new beginning,
one filled with hope and the promise of a better tomorrow. Each child is a whole person with body and spirit undivided, his/her entire being actively participating in the making of history in accordance with God’s laws.
Children are God’s greatest gift to us. They are with us to show us the way to God’s kingdom,
not to be molded and shaped by our own world. As we face a new beginning and as we promote peace, we do so not only for them,
but also with them, so that together,
we can build the world that they want,
CALL TO OFFERING
God has abundantly blessed us and called us to be in community with others, to share our love and material possessions. Let us rejoice in what we have been given and in what is ours to give.

CLOSING SONG
“It could be a Wonderful World”
If we could consider each other,
A neighbor, a friend, or a brother,
It could be a wonderful, wonderful world,
It could be a wonderful world, oh-ho
It could be a wonderful world.
If each little kid could have fresh milk each day
If each working man had enough time to play
If each homeless soul had a good place to stay
It could be a wonderful world, oh-ho,
It could be a wonderful world.
If we could consider each other
A neighbor, a friend, or a brother
It could be a wonderful, wonderful world,
It could be a wonderful world, oh-ho
It could be a wonderful world.
If there were no poor and the rich were content
If strangers were welcome wherever they went
If each of us knew what true brotherhood meant
It could be a wonderful world, oh-ho,
It could be a wonderful world.
If we could consider each other
A neighbor, a friend, or a brother
It could be a wonderful, wonderful world,
It could be a wonderful world, oh-ho
It could be a wonderful world.
